Listen

Listen closely...

Do you hear the wind running through the trees?
That is grandmother, helping people to see.

Do you hear the ocean rushing to the beach?
That is grandfather, yearning to teach.

Do you hear the fire crackling in the forest?
That is uncle, clearing the path before us.

Do you hear the birds high in the air?
They are our children, screaming "Beware!"

Listen to our earth
And you will see
That all is not exactly as it should be.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Sleep... Comes slowly, or not at all

Trying, wondering, figuring.

Friends off doing their own

Seemingly alone

Hope for the future.

Irony

Softly...
I speak out your name.

Slowly...
I form words I didn't know.

Barely...
Seeing the significance.

Trying...
To understand it all.

Feeling...
As if words mean nothing.

Laughing...
At the irony.

And walking away.

Gone

The laughter of the moment.
The sudden strange feeling of discontent.
Then...
Gone.

The essence of being.
The anxious thoughts of fear.
Then...
Gone.

The glory of truth.
The damning thought of doubt.
Then...
Gone.

The endearing compassion of love.
The searing fire of hate.
Then...
Gone.

The lasting impression of beauty.
The self-hate of vanity.
Then...
Gone.

Media

I am a product of the 30 second sound bite.
At 5 seconds, my interest piques.
At 10 seconds, my mind has gathered the purpose.
At 17 seconds, my interest wanes.
At 23 seconds, my 3rd eye opens.
At 30 seconds, I wonder what else is on.

Arrogance

For some reason,
reason fails me...

It says I should start this verbage,
with a single word...
arrogance.

Not quite sure why,
But you know what?
I'm not going to try
to understand why that is.

Ok,
I lied
I am.

Is it because of the rally?
Or because of the drama?
Is it because of the family?
Or is it because of the girls?

Not quite sure,
don't really care...

Just thought I would say
that I was supposed to start this
with a single word.

Arrogance.

Bottom's Up!

The drama queen
with the eyes of the dragon's gleam.
She is the puppet master,
with strings from every appendage.
I always have scissors when I meet her.

The emotional generator
She spouts emotions like a McDonald's
She lives in her fantasy world of emotional gluttony
I always bring a garbage bag when I see her.

The philosophical pit
She swallows the ideas of those around her
While playing a hundred heart strings
Rationalizing her actions with egotistical intelligence.
I always think Nietzsche when I am with her.

The ruler of dichotomy
Living a multitude of lives
Not sure which is her own
Maybe they all are.
I wore raincoat after I met her.

The child of our times
Swept under the schizophrenic rug
Left for the epileptic society
She wonders at the confidence in others.
My soul cries out at what we have done to her.
